Via Ferrata

Nested in the center of Le Dévoluy, near the village of St Etienne en Dévoluy (5 minutes from SuperDévoluy, 10 minutes from La Joue du Loup) this via ferrata is made of 2 parts.

La "Traverse of the Beaumes " (part 1), ok for children since 8 year old, is ideal for a discovery of the activity. This beautiful globally horizontal route goes back up the stream of Souloise river up to the entrance of the Etroits 's canyon (duration between 1H30 and 2h).

A fist exit allows to go out before the more difficult second part. 

The way "Vertigo" (part 2) is more physique and vertical, while it cross both sides the sublime canyon of Les Etroits until it reach its narrowest walls.

For the children aged of 11/12 years. 

Duration of part 1 and 2 : 3h to 3h30.

Situated downstream to the hydroelectric dam of the lake of the Sautet ( Close to Corps, 20 minutes from SuperDévoluy, and 25 minutes from La Joue du Loup), via ferrata of "the big shiver" is ok for the 10 years old children.  

After the impressive crossing of the footbridge perched at 80 meters from the ground, this via ferrata go back up the upstreams of the dam walking on ground and concrete. The atmosphere is vertiginous and the industrial character of this site EDF contrasts with the natural side of the place, the wild beauty of its milky waters is often underlined by a remarkable light. Duration 2h30 to 3h. 

For those who always want more strong sensations, it is possible to finish by the big Tyrolean of Sautet, 200meters of guaranted feelings!

The Gorges of Agnielles (35 minutes from Superdévoluy, and 25 minutes from la Joue du loup, near La Faurie) are ideal for young children since 6 years old to discover via ferrata.

A long crossing on ledges unless 20meter from the ground allows an easy exit in case of big fright, but fortunately a swarm of small darfs (of garden) are hidden all along this easy route to amuse the children in the key-moments.

The character peaceful and protected of this site of mountain is an ideal frame to surpass fears and win in self-confidence, a big final rappel is even add to the program to end with a fireworks.

Initiation Via ferrata of the Belvedère du Sautet (near Corps, 20 minutes driving from Superdévoluy, 25 minutes from La Joue du Loup), is ideal for children begining from  4/5 years old.

Anchored straight from the small Southeast wall of the dam, she allows a playful discovery of via ferrata. Indeed, parents and children can climb together on the route, either simply follow the activity of their child from the ground. The via ferrata is composed of 2 buckles, of a total duration of 1h15 to 1h45. 

The balancing exercices and the height limited to 8meters allow a smoothly progress, because the instructor can rope down children whenever it's necessary. The manipulation of the cliffs, the fact to be progressing with a rope, the trust granted to the equipment and the final pride to reach the end of the route will warm up the skills of your youngs and will give them the confidence to rush with the smile in other great adventures!
